Is it familiar to you? It&#8217;s important to set an appropriate working environment that supports your concentration to be more productive.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">During the last weeks of confinement due to Covid-19, I had to work from home. <\/span><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">I&#8217;ve been involved in academic writing that required a lot of focus and, during the process, I observed certain instinctive practices in me that helped me a lot to be more concentrated. They made me feel more inspired and productive than usual!<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-preserver-spaces=\"true\">So, in this post, I&#8217;m going to share them all with you. They are tips that will help you be more concentrated doing some specific tasks so you can be more productive. Select a good place to work<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>If you work at home (like me, most of the time!) do it in a room where you can close the door and, dedicate that space only for that function. It will help you switch off when you\u2019re resting and make a distinction between your work and personal life.<\/p>\n<p>If that\u2019s not possible, try at least to dedicate one corner of your home to that function.<\/p>\n<p>According to Vastu Shastra, North or Northeast corner of your home would be the ideal place to feel more inspired and in touch with your Self.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">2. Orientate yourself<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Many people wonder about the best orientation to sleep. However, they don&#8217;t wonder about the best orientation to work! Especially if you\u2019re seated for hours in front of a computer.<\/p>\n<p>According to Vastu Shastra, the best orientation to work is facing East. You get the benefits of energy movement of the Earth as it turns towards East around its axis. Facing East also aligns the frontal energy axis of your body so this orientation will help you to be more inspired. I changed mine towards East last year and I noticed the difference&#8230;Now, I even meditate there sometimes!<\/p>\n<p>North is also a good orientation if you are in the North hemisphere but that changes if you are in the Southern Hemisphere. (You can know <a href=\"https:\/\/alluring-brown-iguana.178-211-133-14.cpanel.site\/en\/2020\/05\/13\/whats-the-best-direction-to-work-in-both-hemispheres\/\">what&#8217;s the best orientation to work in both hemispheres<\/a>\u00a0in my previous post)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">3. Clear the clutter of your desk<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Have you ever gone to a library to study when you were in high school? I think we all have been there. And, what did you have on your desk?<\/p>\n<p>Only the necessary things. Am I right? Why would you carry needless things with you?<\/p>\n<p>Do the same on your current desk. Remove all items that you don\u2019t need for your current task. They will distract you. Especially if you have files with pending things to do, they will send you thoughts of: \u2018I have to do that\u2019, \u2018oh, when am I going to have the time for this other thing?\u2019<\/p>\n<p>In my case, even the smallest particles of dust can distract me (maybe because <a href=\"https:\/\/hsperson.com\/\">I&#8217;m a HSP<\/a>). So, whenever I need to be super focus, I clean my desk first. Try that out!<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">4. Use minimalistic decoration and ergonomic furniture<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Minimalistic decoration goes with what I have just shared in point n\u00ba 3. I\u2019ve seen many desks with so many useless decorative items that overwhelm. And, if you don\u2019t change them often, the energy will become stagnant. The more open space you have, the more freely the energy will flow!<\/p>\n<p>On the other hand, the furniture you have should be comfortable enough to keep you seated for hours without any pain. Your computer should be at the height of your eyes and your back, straight. Watch your posture! Backaches can easily distract your concentration. Also, stand up and stretch yourself every 1-2 hours (perfect time to grab a tea, go to the toilet, etc)<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">5. Be careful with the music you choose<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Music is something very personal. Many people work or study with music and, I never knew how they can do it\u2026 How can you listen and be concentrated on something else at the same time? Unless you\u2019re an advance yogi, it\u2019s not possible to be totally focused on two different things at the same time. You can shift your attention to one another like when you\u2019re watching a tennis match (many women have that faculty) but, chances are, you are not fully concentrated on one thing at the time.<\/p>\n<p>If you just need music as a background to accompany you, then is fine. But try to choose instrumental music with high vibrations that inspire you and uplifts your energy.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">6. Hide your mobile phone and shut off your digital notifications<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>This is a big one. If you don\u2019t need your phone that much, put it away of your sight. Mobile phones on the desk, right next to you, will distract you every time you receive a notification. I often place it behind me and, if something urgent comes up, they will call.<\/p>\n<p>Same thing for another kind of notification you may have in your computer such as e-mails, WhatsApp\u2026Switch them off and dedicate special times to check that.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h4><span style=\"color: #000000;\">7. Set the intention to improve focus at work right before you start\u00a0<\/span><\/h4>\n<p>Will power and determination is important because it\u2019s so easy to procrastinate and get distracted with so many other things. And, at the end of the day, you wonder: how much did I produce today?<\/p>\n<p>Not much?<\/p>\n<p>Again?<\/p>\n<p>Here I share with you an affirmation that I started to say every day, right before I start. (It\u2019s becoming a ritual now!). And, it works like magic!<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s an affirmation followed by this prayer:<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #9abb0e;\"><em>&#8216;Whatever I do in life, I give it my full attention. Like a laser beam, I burn from before me all problems, all obstructions&#8217;<\/em> <\/span>(affirmation)<\/p>\n<p><em><span style=\"color: #9abb0e;\">&#8216;Help me to see Thee, Lord. Help me to concentrate on Thee my gaze, my love, my aspirations, my entire being<\/span>&#8216;<\/em> (prayer)<\/p>\n<p>According to Swami Kriyananda, to get the best of affirmations, they should be said tree times: (1<sup>st<\/sup>) loudly, (2\u00ba) whispering and (3\u00ba) mentally to yourself, all three times with determination.<\/p>\n<p>Be consistent, that\u2019s a key factor.<\/p>\n<p>So, these were the 7 tips for your working desk you need to implement to be more concentrated.
